At first glance he may seem like nothing more than a dime a dozen singer/songwriter. Though from the moment Jean-Thomas produces the first sounds from his guitar, the atmosphere becomes absolutely spellbinding. He proceeds to create complex interwoven layers of sound from an array of pedals and stomp boxes on the floor in front of him. You hear grooves, bass lines, percussion, and drums. Jean-Thomas' creations of complete musical sections appears right before your eyes. Armed only with an acoustic guitar, Jean-Thomas uses two quick feet to trigger an array of effects he uses to create and control an invisible orchestra. He slaps his guitar for a backbeat, picks the melody out on a couple of strings, scratches the low-strings with his pick for extra percussion and singing background vocals. The sounds bounce around until he pulls them all together with his guitar and soaring voice.
