About Jan Spillane

Born and raised between Savannah and Tybee Island Georgia, Jan Spillane has honed a trademark blend of folk, jazzy/blues, soulful, country-influenced pop called “The Key of Jan”. "While creating music that stretches across multiple genres, she still manages to infuse her music with local attitude and is equally at home singing blues, country or pop." Since versatility is what Spillane is all about, she fits nicely into the Americana genre. Some of her all time favorites artists include Joni Mitchell, Emmylou Harris, Janis Joplin, The Traveling Wilbury's, Billie Holliday, Paul Simon, Sting, Bruce Cockburn, John Lennon, B.B. King, Bruce Hornsby, John Mellencamp, Harry Chapin, Johnny Cash, Paul McCartney, Trisha Yearwood, and her list goes on and on. Jan is a member of ASCAP, AMA, and NARAS and has traveled to Nashville for over 20 years performing with, co-writing, and recording with some of the best of the best in and out of the country. Tracking in the studio since she was eight years old, she has recorded numerous songs, released four albums, three singles, and is hopeful that "Blue Canvas", her 5th full length album will come out sometime this 2013. Jan has worked in the studio/written/performed/shared stage with many notable artists including, Andy Martin, Stan Martin, John Banks, Stan Webb, Ben Wells, Wood Newton, Phil McDonald, J. Fred Knobloch, Marc Cordray, Jelly Roll Johnson, Matt Collett, Steve Nelson, Jack M.
