Julian Dawson (born Julian Robert Dawson in London on 4 July 1954) is a British singer–songwriter and guitarist (and author). In addition to his solo work, he has recorded with (as singer or harmonica player) a range of artists including Gerry Rafferty, Glenn Tilbrook, Del Amitri, Dan Penn, and Iain Matthews (and his band Plainsong), Richard Thompson, and Benny Hill. Fluent in German (and French), Dawson has also worked with German bands Can, and BAP. Working in Europe and The United States, he kept together a live band for several years that featured guitarist Steuart Smith (now with Eagles).
