About Iranti
Carla Rivarola is a Mexican composer and multi-instrumentalist born in September 1992 and based in Mexico City. Iranti is an independent solo songwriting project focused on bringing the voice and the electric guitar to intimate grounds. For the past ten years, she has been developing her unique style while studying under many of Mexico’s most relevant figures in jazz, experimental and contemporary classical music. She studied Music Composition at the National Autonomous University of Mexico for three years, then opted out to pursue a professional career in music. Iranti is born in late 2013 as an original music solo project aimed at creating a fresh, rich, and very emotional sound. It focuses on reinterpreting and bringing together components from many different musical styles and traditions; mainly progressive rock, jazz, folk, pop, and soul. Two home-recorded singles -‘Sober’ and ‘Angel Fish’- shared on social media were met with enthusiastic reception and have resulted in a constantly growing and actively supportive local following. Origami is Iranti’s debut EP. It was released in April 2015 and carried out in its entirety through a successful crowdfunding campaign.
