About Insect Deli
"Insect Deli" is the moniker used by Julia Gilman for recording, producing and performing electronic experimental music. Previously involved with music as a listener, sometime review writer, and college radio disc jockey (KTUH 90.3 FM Honolulu, Hawai'i). In 2001, she met noise artist Diane Nelson and started collaborating as Winter Carousel. Insect Deli has appeared on several experimental music compilations and independent releases. These include the "Bacon Is The Inside Out World" LP compilation from the now-defunct Chicago label Terry Plumming Records, Disc 3 of "Women Take Back The Noise" from California label UBUIBI, and the Lumpen Media Group's "Lumptronic 6" CD. Insect Deli is currently based in Toledo, Ohio.
