About Ineffable Decibel
Hello! My name is Hector Forts, operating under the pseudonym "Ineffable Decibel", and I'm a multi-instrumentalist here to share my music with anyone who cares to listen to it. I primarily operate on FL Studio, but have recently started using Logic Pro just to try something new. I started creating music in the summer of 2009 when my brother showed my FL Studio. I was intrigued and I would sit, for hours on end, just messing with all of the synthesizers and whatnot just to quench my curiosity. Back then, I was more serious about my band than I was with this electronic project. But, as a year or so passed, that changed drastically. I started writing more and more material for this project. An overall concept was absent (I was going by the pseudonym 'bang.' back then) until I realized that I wanted people to feel the ineffable emotions I felt when I listened to Aphex Twin's 'Selected Ambient Works 85-92' for the first time. It was truly a beautiful experience. So, my entire concept behind this project is to create music that lifts the spirit into a realm of emotion you wouldn't otherwise enter. Except, of course, when falling/being in love. I work straight from my home (bedroom, primarily). I hand design every little detail in a tune, especially on the drums. I despise using loops provided with the DAW or downloaded off of the internet. All of my synths, basses, guitars and drums are put into piano rolls and such as to create the perfect environment for that particular tune. I live record most of my basslines. Most of the guitar tracks are also live recorded except for some which were designed using specific 'string' synthesizers when I couldn't get a specific sound from my guitar. I've live recorded drums only a few times because I record from an electronic set (Ion iED01), which isn't very good. I hate working with quantizations, thus I use piano rolls. Most of the stuff I write is the result of hours of just messing with a bunch of synths, rhythms, guitar riffs/licks, etc.
