About Imaginatron

Imaginatron is the pseudonym for a female singer-songwriter based variously in Scotland, Sweden or a range of other places. She plays her own brand of simplistic, melody-driven synth pop, with influences from bands like Depeche Mode, S.P.O.C.K, Eurythmics and Beborn Beton, and distributes it for free under a Creative Commons licence. Although she has been playing and composing music as long as she can remember, the story of Imaginatron really began in early 2006, when she entered ‘open stage’ competition UKM with her song Phoenix, went on to the regional final and got a small slot at the very popular Festival Töreboda. Shortly thereafter, she recorded the EP Dedication (demo) under her then-alias Tion. She has taken part in a number of songwriting competitions, and was recently recognised as a runner-up in the final round of the 2008 Singer/Songwriter Awards.
