About Ignacio Rocha
Ignacio Rocha is an independent Mexican musician who mixes elements of the Midwest Emo Revival with Pop-Punk and Grunge. His sound is characterized by the use of multiple guitar layers with suspended dissonant chords. His lyrics embody autobiographical existentialist themes. He was born in Irapuato, Mexico in 1992. He lived his entire childhood in Zamora, Mexico where he was trained musically at a local academy where he learned singing, guitar and bass. In 2010 he moved to Guadalajara, where two years later he founded the Pop-punk band "Inversa" together with Armando Delgado. This project is still active to date. In 2014 he began his solo project as a trova and pop ballad musician, mainly influenced by Edgar Oceransky and Raúl Ornelas. He was on tour at some venues arround his country. For some years he was experimenting with new sounds. In 2021 he is diagnosed with cancer and makes the decision to completely change the focus of his music to write about more personal and existential issues. That year he removed all trova music from his digital platforms and released "Si podemos refleja al sol" as the opening track to his new Midwest Emo Revival project.
