About Hyperknox
Hyperknox is a New Wave band from Buenos Aires, Argentina, that synthesizes its style by blending the sound of new British-like rock bands, such as Franz Ferdinand and The Killers, with the energy of American punk bands like The Ramones and Green Day, emphasizing vocal arrangements -inspired by classic rock acts such as Queen and The Beatles-, and adding electronic elements typical of modern pop music. The band was formed in late 2007 when JM and Rami, former members of the band Hypernova, got together with then-soloist Oliver Knoxville, a classmate from the Musical Composition With Electroacoustic Means course of the University of Quilmes. Hyperknox's musical direction and aesthetic were defined as a result of this fusion. The band's live debut was in April 2008 and, while playing in local venues, they focused their energy on the recording of their first studio effort. “Knock Knox” was released in 2009, containing 6 songs that capture the identity of the group. Right now, the band is performing their EP live intensively, as well as writing and pre-producing new material.
