Hugo Helmig (24 July 1998 – 23 November 2022) was a Danish singer-songwriter. He grew up in Aarhus, Denmark as the son of musician Thomas Helmig and supermodel Renée Toft Simonsen. In 2017, he released his debut single, "Please Don't Lie", which would become one of the biggest Danish hits of the year. The song was later included on his only full-length studio album, Juvenile, which was released in 2019. In 2021, Hugo Helmig announced a hiatus from all music activities to focus on his mental health. On 23 November 2022, aged 24, Hugo Helmig died at his apartment in Copenhagen, Denmark.
