Homma Honganji is a Hard Techno artist from Tokyo, Japan. Not stuck into one particular niché in sound, the first releases on Adult Records were really intense, rough-edged productions, but since then Honganji has offered a variety of different kinds of tunes. Missing Gate EP, released on Soundwaves in June 2011, is the perfect example: while the titular track and Possession Tracer are really hard and intense, the other three (Sillago, Corsica and Midsummer in 16 Feet) showcase a softer, dreamy side, all the while keeping it four-to-the-floor. Releases like The Magnificent EP on Envenom Records, on the other hand, are a good display of the well-polished Tribal Techno sound Honganji has to offer; the bongo drum is an ever-present instrument in his productions, and percussions are where this Techno artist truly shines.
