1. Holodomor are a black/death/thrash Metal band from Plymouth, UK. Formed in 2009, the band's style is a symbiosis of the Aussie/Canadian War Metal scene's primordial violence with some elements of 80s German Thrash and a strong influence of early Morbid Angel-type of Death Metal. The debut MCD - Temoignages de la Gnose Terrestre has been released in April 2012. Holodomor are signed to Iron Bonehead Productions for the release of their debut material on a MLP. The Holodomor, also known as the Ukrainian famine, was a mass famine in Soviet Ukraine from 1932 to 1933 that killed millions of Ukrainians. Ukrainian Holodomor is the term used to describe the effects of the introduction of forced labor camps in Eastern Europe, younger brothers of the Soviet gulags, which took hundreds of thousands of workers and peasants to starvation and death caused by violent labor. For decades, these spaces served as instruments of the supremacy of the labor dictatorship imposed on the Ukrainian working class and the Caucasus countries. Not unlike, very similar practices were observed in Brazil during the military dictatorship, where the existence of labor camps is known, despite institutional regulations contained in the Brazilian Penal Code. The reconstruction of the memory of an experience so close to outright oppression in our case, dictatorship, and the revelation of the bondage of labor are, side by side.
