About Herpes Ö DeLuxe
Herpes ö DeLuxe is a quartet from berne and was formed in 1995. they generate electronic and acoustic soundscapes, ranging from ambient sounds and playful collages to devastating, rhythmic noise attacks. through the unpredictability of the partly self-modified instruments, the integration of electronic junk and the important factor of improvisation, each of their concerts is a one-time project, that is often complemented with performances or other actions. concerts and events took place in berne, zürich, baden, solothurn, düdingen, fribourg, biel, grenchen, germany and in austria (in front of the schloss esterhazy in eisenstadt and in the nn-fabrik in siegendorf). besides to that 'musical' part of their activities they regularly work together with the well known sculptural artist pavel schmidt (solothurn and munich) for whom they are producing the acoustic background to his performances. some of those events took place in the schlosshotel orth in gmunden (austria), at the olympiasprungschanze bergisel in innsbruck (austria) and in the europäische akademie für bildende kunst in trier (germany). all members are sporadically working on other cultural activities (music, performance, painting, theatre...). the band consists of mike reber, christoph hess, sürü b. zurbrügg and roger ziegler.
