About Hell Comes To Frogtown

Spawned from the ashes of "The Shoes" in the sleepy city of Timaru (New Zealand), Rob Haines (Drums) and Scott Pye (Guitar) knew they wanted to finally make their own stamp on the local music scene. After writing several songs and going through various other members, the two finally met up with and jammed with Mark Prue (Bassist), who added the missing piece to the rhythm section and fattened up the low end with his grunty style of bass playing. The group now embarked on playing as many local gigs as they could, going by a handful of names (eg: The Rock N Roll Exorcist). Playing as a instrumental act, adding vocals only to the covers they tackled. Including "Pretty Vacant" by the Sex Pistols, "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath amongst others. The group finally settled on the name 'Hell Comes To Frogtown', after a movie of the same name. "It's the worst movie I've ever seen," comments Haines. "Terrible acting, horrifying plot and I f--king love it". After nearly two years of playing as a three piece instrumental act. The group finally entered talks with HARM vocalist Russell Beaumont. The talks originated to sort out a gig with HARM and for Russ to partake in a song with the Frogtown lads. But after jamming with Frogtown he realized that this is where he wanted to be. Russ has since left HARM behind and come on board full time in Hell Comes To Frogtown. Since the final piece of the puzzle has been grafted into place the lads have blown away audiences around their regions and are embarking on expanding their operation to the larger cities of New Zealand. Searching for bigger bands to play with and bigger crowds to play to. Check out their music and if you get a chance to witness them playing a show. You won't regret being part of it. "When hell comes to frogtown baby, you better.. You better.. You better come to the show."
