About Gone Bald
Gone Bald is a noiserock band that was born in Zagreb (Croatia) in 1994. Shortly after birth, the band hitch-hiked their way to Amsterdam (Netherlands) and that's where the band still lives, even though guitarist Razorblade Jr. is the only original member still playing in the band. The band released tapes, cd’s, a 7” single and more on labels like Kekere Aquarium (Croatia), 100% (Netherlands), FBWL (Belgium), Interstellar Records (Austria) and Narrominded (NL). Over the years, Gone Bald has played hundreds of shows in every possible place from squat to highbrow theatre. Gone Bald has toured Holland, Belgium. Luxemburg, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia, and shared the stage with bands like Jesus Lizard, Butthole Surfers, Sebadoh, Ninewood, The Ex, Don Caballero, Flying Luttenbachers, Today Is The Day and Chinese Stars. The noiserock guitarsound has always been the foundation of the music, but there’s also influences from mathrock and grunge to free-jazz, emo and new-wave. In 2004, the band threw a 10 year anniversary party in Amsterdam with bands like Peach Pit, Makazoruki, Living Ornaments and members of The Ex playing. In mid 2007 the band presented the album “100 Ways to become cool”. Seven new tracks, recorded in Sing Sing studios, come with a book and dvd. The 48 page book celebrates 13 years of Gone Bald, with contributions from different journalists (a.o. Peter Bruyn, Vido Liber, Wim v.d. Herik) plus poetry, comics, photo’s and more (a.o. Vormversterker, Pfaff, John Prop and Igor Hofbauer). The dvd contains two documentaries about the band, two videoclips, extra’s and live footage from 1994 until today.
