About Goddessmusic

Formed in the fall of 2005. Ronny and Trygve met up at the University of Copenhagen, called a few old friends and KA-BOOM!!!... it was the birth of a pretty fuckin' good band. Thus it would only be fair to name the band: -Goddess- In order to DEMOnstrate their ambitions, Ronny, Trygve, Bo and Jakob isolated themselves in the brutal winter of 2006 in an old dark mansion and laid down the tracks for 5 smashing songs. The budget was tight, so time was short. There was no time for excessive nitpicking, but the result speaks for itself. The urgency and potency of those songs cannot be denied! "This Is Blood" is a hot-blooded rocker, but with a sophisticated twist in the chorus where the band plays around with discreet odd-time signatures. The middle-part reveals the beauty and tranquility that also can be found in Goddess' music. "Trace Of Dirt" starts off with a AC/DC meets Metallica riff. Delightfully heavy! You think you have this song all figured out, until the chorus breaks in and surprises the listener with lush melodies and layers of harmonies. The song also has 2 guitars solos. Dave Murray and Adrian Smith would have been proud! "The Ones Left In The Storm" is kicked off with a Tool-esque bassline. This song is also a perfect demonstration of the anti-minimalistic approach that already has become one of Goddess' trademarks. Beautiful guitar melodies are weaved into each other while the crooning vocals almost guides the listener through the frenzy(..or storm?) "Torenian Girl" is a song for the ladies; a bit introspective yet dynmaic and quite rocking. It might be one of Goddess' songs that has the widest appeal. One might say, it's just a darn good pop song. Not unlike some of the more melodic material from The Cult. Intro/Don't You Let It Get You Down takes you on a non-stop ride. It has an almost epic feel and the chorus makes it a true anthem. Most likely a song that will get stuck in your head. Deal with it! Soon those songs can be heard by anyone when the artwork is done and other practical things have been taken care of. Stay tuned on this site, where different songs will be in rotation.
