About Gill&Gill
The brothers Anatol and Sebatian Gill, born and raised in Zurich, became aware of electronic music in 2002. At first mainly influenced by Trip-hop and Acid Jazz, they soon discovered the driving percussion and weird sounds of the new Detroit Generation: Lee Curtiss, Seth Troxler and Ryan Crosson, to name but a few. These aspects remain the base of a typical gill&gill set, joined today by the use of loops, hypnotic vocals and the freedom of experimentation. Since 2004 gill&gill have been playing around Zurich and other Swiss cities, with the intent of letting their public experience a few carefree hours of dancing to good music. Most recently one could hear them at 'Hive', 'Club Q' or 'Reitschule'. At the same time, the Gill brothers have been involved in own productions. As a counterpoint to dj-ing, the main interest here is to create a 'carpet of sound', using self created samples and vocals.
