About Galitza
Formed in Leeds in 2000, out of the remnants of 2 defunct bands Chest and Landspeed Loungers. Galitza persued a frank approach to their music, which was sometimes delicate and often brutal. Dual vocalists allowed the band to stand out amongst their peers, with both Steve and Emma possessing wonderful singing voices. 3 Guitarists gave the band a very dynamic live sound and the individuals approach to their guitars gave flexible power and the ability to set up hypnotic counter melodies. The band was driven by the powerhouse rhythm section, Simon and Eric, who had honed their skills in the Landspeed Loungers. Most importantly they wrote beautiful, honest songs filled to the brim with passion. All members still persue musical interests, with Simon and Emma still collaborating in Portable Pony.
