About Galaxxy Chamber

History Formed in 1987 by Nykk Fell in San Francisco, GalaXxy Chamber has been a permanent mainstay on the Bay Area music scene ever since. Joined by Krystl Chamber and Bill Keaney in 1991 “GalaXxy Chamber mixes a holistic mash of educated conspiracy, dead art decadence, doom, space, electro-trip goth and creative ingenuity at the dawning age of Aquarius,” FLIPSIDE magazine, Jan. 1998. The band has hosted a plethora of guest musicians over the aeons that have floated through its galactic sphere — some stemming from bands as different as MDC, Joe Cocker and Helios Creed. Residing in the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco, GalaXxy Chamber blends Afro-beats, gothadelic and experimental rock to form a haunting musical tome of metaphysical political humor. “A ritualist, enchanted space carnival; envision Gregorian chants, coloratura soprano, acid guitar, tweaked-out keyboards and corps of Nigerian drummers playing at a witch‘s Sabbat in a cathedral, ” says Gayle Rubin of Taste of Latex magazine. “Dead Can Dance meets Marilyn Manson,” — Chet Helms “dark and lascivious,” — Silke Tudor, SF Weekly “the vocalists sound like Jello Biafra and other times like, well, they‘re actually singing, the lyrics fall between Flash Gordon and Eraserhead.
