About Galactic North
There are three bands with the name Galactic North. 1. Indie shoegaze/alternative/folk project led by writer/musician/YouTube personality David Aarons from the Twin Cities area in Minnesota. Some of his other musician friends occasionally join in, but at present, it's more or less a solo effort. Inspired in equal part by shoegaze and folk tempered with eclectic influences from numerous other genres as well. He's currently working on his debut album to be titled Northern Lights, from which he has released a very early single (Pictures of the Last Day). 2. Instrumental Progressive Metalcore band from California formed in 2007 with two unsigned releases. Galactic North was formed in 2007 in Tracy, CA by former members of Fighting Fear: James Mason - Guitar, and brothers Kendal Roderick - Guitar and Kyle Roderick - Drums. They released several demos and had begun to go through various name changes over the next few years (including Light of Day & Fighting Fear). Their first unsigned release entitled Fighting Fear was released in May 2007 featuring Brent Stromberg - Vocals. Their second release out June 8, 2009 features five instrumental tracks with a crisp and crushing new sound. 3. Minimalist Ambient Electronic band from South East United Kingdom.
