About G. Dale
G. Dale's first record (Treehouse, 2005) was a hushed, home recorded paean to women, transformation and the present tense. The demo, augmented by simple guitar figures, percussion and harmonium was praised by the label Fat Cat and supported by a number of well received gigs. In 2006 Dale convened a band under the auspices of the name Funés to twist his compositions into radically different shapes - a kind of paranoid alt-country or post-punk for romantics, depending. The fruits of this collaboration lead to the e.p. ‘Marriage’, (a title that nods to the odd musical amalgam of their sound as much as the metaphysical surrealism of its title track) and a live album '30/01/08' in early 2009 (on Woodland Recordings). Dale began recording and performing as Mute Swimmer in 2007. The limited E.P. 'Bones' appeared in 2008 and the eponymous debut album in April 2010. A single is imminent on Bleeding Heart Recordings in 2011. Last.fm
