Venugopal started his career in the film Odarathammava Aalariyam (1987) and has sung in more than 280 films and over 250 albums since then. G. Venugopal is a postgraduate in Literature and Journalism from the Kerala University where he was the Sarva Kalaa Prathibha for five consecutive years from 1980 to 1985. He resides in Trivandrum with his wife Reshmi and 2 children Arvind and Anupallavi.
