About Full Tote Odds
Full Tote Odds To Release New Album 'Place Your Bets' 16 November 2012 Featuring members Levelheaded, Slats, Eslev, Ross Read and DJ Hacksaw, Adelaide Hills hip hop collective Full Tote Odds have announced they will release their debut album Place Your Bets through Obese Records on Friday, 16 November 2012. With two already highly rotated and successful singles Southern Wind and What's Going Down, the release of Place Your Bets is destined to ensure Full Tote Odds receive recognition as premier talents in the world of Australian hip hop. The new album documents an evolution and marks the group's arrival at a destination of musical dexterity that has given them the ability to produce upbeat tunes that are both cleverly crafted and thoroughly infectious. Their latest single, Adrenaline which will be released soon, is sure to repeat the success on the airwaves as its predecessors Southern Wind and What's Going Down. With its insistent guitar line, world class flow and massive vocal hook, Adrenaline is sure to become a summer anthem and a live highlight when Full Tote Odds hit the road in early 2013 to promote the new album. The Adelaide Hills have always been a fertile breeding ground for high quality Australian hip hop, producing acts such as Hilltop Hoods and Funkoars among others and it was here that the genesis for Full Tote Odds was written. Slats and Levelheaded were members of the group Train Of Thought that released a highly acclaimed Demo (2002) and a hit debut album Moving Heads (2004). The Moving Heads LP was released through Obese Records and featured both Adelaide Hills acts Hilltop Hoods and Funkoars. Developing and honing his own musical abilities and man of many talents, Eslev was a member of Adelaide metal band ‘Headbore’ working on several hip hop projects through the mid 2000. His passion for the acoustic guitar saw him work with various artists including Purpose (Pagen Elipsis) and Jack Radford by incorporating the acoustic sound into production. Working closely with Ross Read, he began producing the sound for the upcoming release. In 2009, Levelheaded released his debut solo album ‘The Spice Of Life’. Eslev and Slats featured predominantly on the album with other guest appearances from Trials (Funkoars) and Reason (Obese Records). Eslev and Slats became integral to the live show and traveled extensively as the album tour reached Melbourne, Geelong, Hobart, Adelaide and regional South Australia. The lead single ‘Bounce’ received national airplay on Triple J and the LP was nominated for Australian Hip Hop album of the year on Ozhiphop.com. With more than 15 years experience in the music industry, Ross Read is an integral part of the FTO project, bringing a high level of technical knowledge, creativity and attention to detail to the table. With his craft honed through many years experience as a musician, producer and sound engineer it’s these skills that are being utilised to see Full Tote Odds take it beyond the next level. Full Tote Odds release Place Your Bets on Obese Records on 16 November 2012.
