About Frank Bey With The Anthony Paule Band

About the Frank Bey and Anthony Paule Band Since first touring together in 2005, Philadelphia based singer Frank Bey, and San Franciscan guitarist Anthony Paule, have blended their talents and expertise to captivate audiences up and down the West Coast. Born and raised in Millen, Georgia, Frank Bey began his singing career performing gospel at the tender age of 4. Along with his brother and two cousins, their group “The Rising Sons” toured around The South making live appearances as well as radio broadcasts. At age 17 he joined the Otis Redding Revue working as the opening act for several years. During his time with Otis Redding, Frank learned to captivate and mesmerize an audience with a song. After a long hiatus from the music business during the 80s and early 90s, Frank came back better than ever. Anthony Paule has been a driving force of the Bay Area music scene for many years and has previously released two solo CDs. In addition to fronting is own band, he’s toured and recorded with Boz Scaggs, Charlie Musselwhite, Bo Diddley, Maria Muldaur, Barbara Lynn, Norton Buffalo, The Johnny Nocturne Band, Mark Hummel, and others. The release of the two CDs with Frank Bey, “You Don’t Know Nothing” and “Soul For Your Blues” finds Paule in his element, in full stride with this eight piece soul band... backing up a fine singer. “Thanks for the CD. I really enjoyed the album (Soul For Your Blues); good songs, good production. I liked some of the writing quite a bit…my faves were I’m Leaving You, I Just Can’t Go On and Somebody Else’s Baby. Frank is a terrific singer with a lot of variety and range and real feeling. I was surprised by the John Prine song; I paid more attention to the story in Frank’s version than I did with the original. There’s a lot to be proud of here. Thanks for sending a copy.” Bruce Iglauer – President, Alligator Records ”Bey’s vocice is one of the small wonders of modern soul-blues...He’s found his dream band in seven Bay Area musicians led by tasteful intelligent guitarist and producer Anthony Paule.” Frank-John Hadley, Downbeat Magazine, January 2014 ”Frank Bey had been standing in the shadows of stardom far too long. He has finally stepped out of the shadows.” Lee Hildebrand – Music Journalist “In a time when American Idol-type vocal gymnastics too often pass for soul, Frank Bey is a perfect reminder of what soul singing is really all about: Communication, warmth, and emotional sincerity.” Rick Estrin of the Nightcats – Alligator Records Recording Artist Website: Frank Bey With The Anthony Paule Band
