François Fernandez is a French violonist born in 1960. Pupille of Sigiswald Kuijken, he devotes himself entirely to the baroque violin. Member of several chamber music ensembles, he teaches at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris. Life: François Fernandez is born in Rouen in 1960. At the age of 12, he began studying the baroque violin, devoting himself entirely to this instrument a few years later. He studied for two and a half years at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and graduated as soloist in the class of Sigiswald Kuijken. Then he played in "La Petite Bande", "La Chapelle Royale", "Orchestra of the 18th Century" ... often as a soloist or first violin. In the recent years, he devoted himself mainly to chamber music with the Kuijken brothers, Ricercar Consort, Hantai brothers ... or as soloist with the Partitas of JS Bach. Among the many recordings, we must mention particularly Leclair Sonatas (Auvidis Astraea), which received the "Gramophone Award".
