About Formally Known As...
Formally Known As… is a collaboration between musicians James Tirrell/Joonyoung815 (guitar) and Robert Finlow/OhNoItsRobo (vocals and mixing). Originally when these two met they didn’t want to make a whole project but rather just make some songs for fun, and eventually they had the idea to do a throwback EP reminiscent of late 2000s-early 2010s Metalcore. The duo got together during one week and created the project “Running Towards The Past,” released on May 22nd 2023. After a few months after the release of this EP, Robert and James decided to throw a few singles together to keep their joint audience happy. They crafted a few songs together, but kept coming up with more ideas for different songs, and within the course of around 5 months, they had a full album ready to release. On April 20th, 2024 - less than a year after their EP - they released their debut album "I Keep Forgetting You're Already Dead," which was met with overwhelming support for it's polish despite being homegrown and fully independent.
