About Forgodsake

Newcastle based rockband Forgodsake came to life in the early 90ies when The Shotgun Brides members Steve Wallace (guitar), Drew Gallon (bass) and Gary Binns (drums) formed a "new version" of their band with singer Kevin Ridley (ex-The Screen Idols) and guitarist Chris McCormack (ex-Gunslinger, brother of The Wildhearts bassist Danny McCormack). After playing a few gigs as The Shotgun Brides, the band decided to change their name to Forgodsake. Forgodsake signed to Bleeding Hearts records and released their debut album "Blasthead" in 1993. In the following years both guitarists left and the band carried on as a trio with Kevin taking over guitar duties. Forgodsake's second (and last) album "Gunk" was released in 1996. Influenced by bands like Faith No More and Alice In Chains, Forgodsake's sound combined elements of punk, hard rock/metal, new wave and pop. Current activities of the former Forgodsake members: Chris McCormack joined Three Colors Red after leaving Forgodsake. Kevin Ridley joined Skyclad as a guitarist (and later singer/frontman) in 1987 after the breakup of Forgodsake. Steve Wallace now plays with reunited 70ies punk band The Penetration.
