Folie's
About Folie's
Maxime, better known by his stage name Folie’s, is a French songwriter, producer, and performer hailing from the 18th arrondissement of Paris. His name is a direct shoutout to the Folies Pigalle. Folie’s grew up in a creative environment, thanks to his dad being a percussionist and his mom working in the fashion world. He was immersed in music by his father from a very young age, which influenced him early on. For him, music quickly became a real passion. Folie’s claims a heavy heritage, citing icons like Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Prince, Fela Kuti, Otis Redding, and Stevie Wonder. Raised on 90s and 2000s rap (IAM, NTM, Mobb Deep, Rohff), he also has a special admiration for AZ’s voice and Diddi Trix’s originality. His writing, often driven by melody, touches on themes of desire, ambition, and the contrast between his personal life and his stage persona. He launched his career in 2022 with the double single Luvsick / Liquide on June 22nd, followed the next day by a three-track project: Sirène. In 2023, he dropped the singles Bissap (July 12th) and Tranchée (September 20th). On January 31st, 2024, he released Nymphomaniac, the first lead single from his upcoming EP. In May 2024, he released Folie’s je t’aime, a six-track project that defines his sensual style, blending rap, funk, soul, and RnB. The track BAD!, which samples Onda by the Brazilian artist Cassiano, went viral on TikTok with over 45,000 creations. Thanks to this success, he blew past 10 million streams on Spotify and joined the platform's RADAR program, which led to a performance in New York on the show On The Radar. During 2025, American rapper Lil Tecca released the track Dark Thoughts on his album DOPAMINE. This song samples the "FLY" production by Danish producer Lucas Scharff, which Folie’s had previously used for his own track Nosleeve. That same year, he dropped the EP Sexy Summer. It includes #Playboy, which features the iconic Stevie Wonder bassline from the track Superstition. After selling out the Trianon in Paris on November 22nd, 2025, Folie’s is kicking off a tour across France and Europe in 2026. In late 2025, Folie’s unveiled a new track titled Telfar during his Trianon concert, later sharing an extract of it on social media. In January 2026, he officially announced on X (Twitter) that an album with the beatmaking duo Koboi was on the way, stating: "Folie’s x Koboi, it’s serious, very serious. Album 2026."
