About Fin Raziel

Fin Raziel were born outside of Bath in 2001 when the boys were 16, with brothers Alex Moon (Bass, Vocals & Synth) and Fran Moon (Drums, Sequencing), with Ben Bridges (Lead Guitar & Vocals) forming the band in secondary school, playing popular rock covers at school events. Meeting initially at a music summer school, James (Vocals, Guitar, Piano & Sequencing) joined the band slightly later to play rhythm guitar, and through their shared influences and enthusiasm the band quickly found that together they could quickly build a strong performing relationship. After securing rehearsal space in an old pub bowling alley, with cheap as hell guitars; a £10 mic; a stolen keyboard and an antique PA full of leaves that was prone to overheating; the band began to write a collection of songs and played small venues around Bath and Bristol, bringing a mix of acoustic rock, progressive indie and popular contemporary covers. Following graduation after several years of playing together, the band relocated to Guildford, Surrey in order to begin playing gigs in and around London, while Fran and Ben followed drum and guitar courses at the famous Surrey Academy of Contemporary Music, Europe's leading school for rock and pop musicians. The band recorded a debut EP with the fantastic local producer Stu Churchill (Sound Corruption) and playing around Guildford, Surrey and London in popular venues. The title track of featuring on an industry "Taste of the talent" CD, also being one of the songs selected by Creative Zen for a new promotion. Recently the band won the 2007 Somerset Guardian Battle of the Bands back home, and will be completing more recording with the prize money. Fin Raziel bring a new approach to the post-rock genre, a dramatic delivery with exciting and innovative sounds. Mixing live sequencing, synth loops, layered harmonies, catchy choruses and an honest emotive delivery, the band are developing an exciting stage-show to showcase their apocalypic, chaotic songwriting. From the beginnings in small venues, the band enjoy the "wall of sound" approach to dynamics, and mix melodic orchestration with raw rock riffs and a varied array of textures. Debut EP - Disaster, available now for £3.
