About Fdot1

Born in Barbados but raised in the US, Canada, UK and Zimbabwe Fdot1 brings a wealth of live experience and musical influences to his sound. He started his career in street ciphers in Barbados where he was known as Flo and started producing for other Bajan artists at an early age using just Roland W30 an MPC60 and a tape deck in his bedroom under the name Floriginul. He went on to master his craft by working at one of Barbados’s premier recording studios under the tutelage of Anthony Lowhar. His talent was spotted by an A&R exec who was visiting the island and he landed himself a contract in the US when he was just 17 years old. Fast forward a few years and Flo came to live in the UK. Within a short time of arriving in the country he established himself as a top class producer. He worked at a number of studios in London including Strong Rooms, Vibes Corner and Whoa! where he recorded and produced for the likes of Sizzla, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Giggs, Ms Dynamite, Tony Rebel, Durrty Goodz, Tinie Tempah, Starboy Nathan and Queen Ifrica to name but a few. Flo was soon touring with the likes of De La Soul and performing with Ms Dynamite, Immortal Technique, Omarion, Lil’ Wayne and Malarchi. After a 2 year sabbatical Flo decided he could not stay away from the music business and in 2011 he re-branded and launched himself as the artist Fdot1. Taking all the musical influences he grew up with and giving some up and coming artists that he had worked with the opportunity to shine, Flo created the album Money MusicK. The album was born out of his frustration with the music scene and the popularisation of “formula” music. Each and every track on the album is lyrically and musically diverse and stands out in it’s own right. New singles and album coming in 2013 featuring legends like Tippa Irie.
