BACKGROUND: Fantine has been composing in English, Portuguese and Spanish since her 17 years of age and performing since she was 15. Her introduction to music began in a conservatory with classic piano at 7 years of age and ended at 10 when she discovered the acoustic guitar. Fantine experimented the drums for three years and then picked up on the guitar skills by writing her own music and beginning her professional career performing in pubs. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES: Aside from performing in dozens of pubs with bands and guitar duos, Fantine has been on stage performing as a dancer and singer in the Saloon Musical in São Paulo and in Club Med, Itaparica – Bahia, where she also stretched her artistic abilities by performing in the still trapeze, flying trapeze and Indian Rope. HISTORY IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY: Fantine Tho was a member of a pop group, Rouge, the Brazilian Spice Girls. The break though as a performer in 2002, gave her the opportunity to gain experience as an artist by: * Promoting 4 albums * Promoting 3 DVD’s * Guest appearance in two films * Filming 6 video clips * and Touring. Fantine had the privilege to tour all of Brazil and perform in Argentina, Uruguay, Angola, South Africa, Portugal and the United States with the group. CURRENT EVENTS!!! She is now composing, and performing with the guitar player, Martijn Niggebrugge, in an acoustic duo. On stage they share their versions of their favourite cover songs as well as their own music.
