There are two artists currently producing under this name: 1) FRKTL is the solo experimental project of award-winning British-Egyptian artist and composer Sarah Badr. A classically trained multi-instrumentalist working with live sampling and improvisation, vocal manipulation, field recordings and generative systems, she creates emotive, immersive explorations of sound. Badr’s critically acclaimed sixth release and third full-length album as FRKTL, Excision After Love Collapses, marks nearly a decade of independent, self-published work. She is also resident at Hong Kong Community Radio, where she presents a monthly show of genre-bending music from around the world. 2) FRKTL is the Santiago, Chile based rapper, singer-songwriter and producer. His latest album, Insanacion (Ultimate), was released in 2018 and is now available on Bandcamp and Spotify.
