FOX LOCO PHANTOM (フォックスロコファントム) is a Japanese alternative rock band from Tokyo which combines elements from new wave with disco-punk and garage-punk sound. They've been formed in June 2007. They released three demos with tracks from their upcoming album at the beginning of their carrier. At that time, ODK was their support drummer. On November 21st 2007 they released their first album 百花繚乱 ("Hyakkaryoran"), which has songs in japanesque style, but also faster punk songs. On January 27th 2008 they released their first mini album "INTERMISSION" which could only be obtained at concerts and was sold out soon, just as their tour final one-man show "kitsunebi-douchuu" in February 2008 at Asakusa KURAWOOD. Sometime after November 2007 and March 2008 their support drummer peco joined the band. In March 2008 drummer Aiba „Andrew“ Takehiko officially him on drums. On May 25th 2008 they participated in "RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2008" in Ezo. Their second album "CHAOTIC MONSTER" was released on July 16th 2008 coming along with their tour named "MONSTER A GO-GO!" with 47 tour dates and a tour final at Shimokitazawa CLUB251. Two days after this release, on July 18th, they released another (demo) album "lonely vacation", which was also only available at their shows and featured tracks like "VELVET SLIDER" or "KICK ME OUT", which were re-released on official releases later. During that tour they have released many demo singles and maxi singles, including シンメトリー (Symmetry), a split single with befriended cold kitchen, "HEDI SESSIONS" or "TAXI DRIVER". In October 2008 they held the tour final (oneman) of their "MONSTER A GO-GO! Tour" at Shimokitazawa CLUB251. In November 2008 they had a one-man show as an additional performance of the tour at Osaka AtlantiQs. 2009-2010: Mini-album PUBLIC EYE, album ギムギムの森 and departure of drummer Aiba „Andrew“ Takehiko: From January 2009 on they had a monthly event called 感情Ｘ線 (Kanjou X-ray). On May 15th 2009 they released their album "PUBLIC EYE", a TOWER RECORDS only release, followed by their tour "GENERIC EYE" and the tour final one-man show at Shindaita FEVER in July. In August they held another 感情Ｘ線 (Kanjou X-ray) gig at Daikanyama UNIT. Shortly after that, in November 2009 they released their first full album ギムギムの森 (Gimu gimu no mori) on "HOME BIRD JAPAN/PCI MUSIC also coming along with a tour. The tour final took place at Shimokitazawa BasementBar. They also played a special 100 people limited one-man live at Shimokitazawa Daisy Bar In February 2010 which was later released on CD and DVD as 百人限定単独公演 ～新旧狐曲満載編～ (Hyakunin gentei tandoku kouen ~shinkyuu kitsune-kyoku mansai-hen~). In March 2010 they released their live distributed EP "Rebellion of Flowers EP" which was sold at their Rebellion of Flowers EP release tour. In April 2010 their drummer Aiba „Andrew“ Takehiko left the band. For concerts/support Kenichi Tokunaga joined them as support drummer. 2010-2011: Mini-albums SHADOW and GARDEN, departure of guitarist Ryo Saito and hiatus: In 2010 they had several other live distributions, such as "Bloof of Youth" (Demo) or "Rebel Sessions" (Demo) followed by their mini album "SHADOW" in July 2010 and a release tour called "TOUR2010"Empire of shadows". The final oneman shows took place in Osaka, Fukuoka and Tokyo. In November 2010 they released "GARDEN", another mini album, followed by a release tour. In November 2010 they announced that Ryo Saito would leave their band and that support drummer Kenichi Tokunaga will be a new permanent member. Later Suichi Ryousuke joined them as their support guitarist. Still suffering from those member losses, they had their "GARDEN tour final oneman show at Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO" in January 2011. The same month they announced they would go on an indefinite hiatus. 2012-2013: Return and album 誰がために音は鳴る: In January 2012, after being on hiatus for one year they announced their comeback with the comeback show at Shimokitazawa CLUB251 "FOX LOCO PHANTOM NEVER DIES ～人間復活～" (Ningen fukkatsu), but the band decided to continue as a trio: Vocalist Tatsuyoshi Yoda, guitarist Yoshii Izumida and bassist Hideo Nekota. For concerts and recordings they have support members from TEXAS STYLE and GAUCHE. In 2012 they had several shows and played at several festivals, such as "ETERNAL ROCK FESTIVAL". In December 2012 they played a show called "THE HOLE OF DR CHIROPTERA ～コウモリ博士の穴～" (Koumori hakase no ana) at Hibiya STEPWAY STUDIO. On December 11th 2013 they released their album 誰がために音は鳴る (Dare ga tame ni on wa naru) and played gigs again, including their 2014 live series "爆音都市 - EXPLOSION CITY" (Bakuon toshi) with BYEE THE ROUND, モハメド, アルカラ & SUPER BEAVER. They also contributed to the compilation "251 LIVE RALLEY 7". 2015-2019: Live distributions, 10th anniversary and intense live activities: In May 2015 they held the oneman concert 初期衝動～浅草ライオット～ (Shoki shoudou ~Asakusa riot~) at Kurawood and released the live limited CDs "PIRATES EP" & "BLUE RIOT", a live compilation CD (May 9th 2015) followed by three new songs (as live distributed singles): 改造人間 (Kaizou ningen), 空蝉 (Utsusemi) and 君に捧ぐ (Kimi ni sasagu). In January 2017 they held a 10th Anniversary oneman gig at Shimokitazawa CLUB251 "ラブ・ストーリーは突然に…" (Love story wa totsuzen ni...) after which ODK left the band. Later ソウ / 佐々木創 (Sou Sasaki) joined them on drums. For their 10th anniversary they renewed their concert series 感情X線SP (Kanjou X-ray SP) and played an event with アルカラ (Arukara), HERE and リムキャット (Rimcat; opening act). On November 3rd 2017 they released 心臓ディストーション (Shinzou distortion) a mini album (officially double album) featuring the three singles and three new songs. It came with another live compilation CD called "LIVE BEST" which included previously released live tracks but also featured new live recordings. They also released a photo book for their 10th anniversary. On November 4th they played a twoman show "HUMANDRIVE 2マン企画 「夢物語」Vol.1" (twoman kikaku "Yumemonogatari") at Shinjuku Marble with HUMANDRIVE. In the following years they played many concerts and festivals/events: ボイドリ2018 (Boidori 2018) in Koenji, "GARDEN CITY RECORDS TOUR'18 - QUADRANGLE×HUMANDRIVE Release Party" at Shimokitazawa CLUB251 on July 20th (Yoda, Yoshii, Sou karaoke/acoustic), "CLUB251 SUMMER FES. 2018 NATSU/YORU音楽祭 GLIDER SUMMER SPECIAL" 出演 on August 19th withアイラブユーベイビーズ, ゆーの, BAZRA and results in cert , an appearance at Toushin LOVETKO (Yoda, Yoshii, Sou acoustic), at CLUB251 SUMMER FES.2018 NATSU/YORU音楽祭 GLIDER SUMMER SPECIAL at Shimokitazawa CLUB251 and they joined HUMANDRIVE on September 8th at Shimokitazawa CLUB251 for their -HUMANDRIVE企画- "告白"Release tour 「折り返しディストーション」 and カヨ on November 3rd for their TOUR FINAL at Imaike GROW. They ended the year 2018 with a performance at Shimokitazawa CLUB251 on December 28th 2018. They started 2019 with a performance at TEARS OF THE REBEL presents GIGS PIGS GIGS NO.17 at Shimokitazawa CLUB Que with TEARS OF THE REBEL, SiCX and PET. Their label held an event on May 6th called 「GARDEN CITY RECORDS」SHOWCASE LIVE with label artists like QUADRANGLE, GOLIATH and カヨ at Shimokitazawa CLUB251. They also played the event "CLUB Que 夏ノ陣 2019 RETURN TO NATURAL" (Natsu no jin) with wash? at Shimokitazawa CLUB QUE, a oneman gig at Shimokitazawa CLUB251 on August 25th and the festival ボイドリ2019 (Boidori 2019) on October 26th. On December 15th 2019 they started selling their CD-R single アンダーグラウンド (Underground) at the event GARDEN CITY RECORDS Presents「Christmas & year-end party」at Shimokitazawa CLUB251 on December 13th (“ALL NIGHT”『FRIDAY THE 13TH』) and 15th. The event also featured bands like カヨ, 脳内リフレイン, SEENA SHEEP SKIN, HUMANDRIVE and QUADRANGLE. They participated in リムキャットpre. リムフェス'20 特別編-Distortion Game- (Rimcat pre. Rim-fes '20 tokubetsu-hen -Distortion Game-), a festival organized by リムキャット (Rimcat) with LAZYgunsBRISKY, HERE and others at Shimokitazawa CLUB251 and Shimokitazawa ReG. On February 28th 2020 they participated in the event 四夜連続Friday"ノダっチャイナ"Town (Shiyo renzoku Friday "Nodachina" Town) with HUMANDRIVE, moll and others. It was their last gig before the pandemic. 2019 - present: Pandemic, recent single アンダーグラウンド (Underground) and unknown future: In May 2020 they published a video on Youtube with ノラ (Nora) as a "quarantine version" during the COVID pandemic with each member performing from home. As members they credited Vo.依田タツヨシ (Yoda Tatsuyoshi), Gt.泉田ヨシイ (Izumida Yoshii), Gt.椎名ヨウスケ (Shiina Yousuke), Ba.猫田ヒデヲ (Nekota Hideo) and Dr.ソウ (Sou). Hideo Nekota announced he's suffering from hearing loss prioritizing his health. It's unknown how or if the band will continue activities. On September 21st 2024 they released アンダーグラウンド (Underground) digitally. The song has been sold at concerts as CD-R in December 2019 already. On October 19th 2024 they participated at the event "Garden City Entertainment Pre ｢百花繚乱｣" (Hyakkaryouran) organized by GARDEN CITY RECORDS, Hideo Nekota's label, together with 13.3g, 秘めごと (Himegoto) and wi wick. It was their first live gig in 5 years. Since then they have mostly been inactive due to unknown reasons. The agency of the band is still "Nyan Nyan Records". They are currently signed to Hideo Nekota's label GARDEN CITY RECORDS. Their former labels are PICTUS (2007-2008), HOME BIRD JAPAN / PICTUS NEO (2008-2009), UM 360 / PCI MUSIC (2009-2010) and Nyan Nyan Records / A.R.E. (2013). About the members: Tatsuyoshi Yoda was born on March 3rd in Adachi-ku. His nickname is "Yodarock". Yoshii Izumida was born on February 1st in Aizu-Wakamatsu. He released music with Ryo Saito as Thunder Boys. He used to be a support guitarist for SUPER BEAVER. On January 9th 2011 he released a CD "EXPERIMENTAL DEMONSTRATION 1" as Dead Girlfriend. Over the years he released music on his soundcloud. He joined polygon, a band with members from miaou and re:plus, in 2021 which later renamed to polyμ. He enjoys hiking and camping. Yousuke Shiina used to be their support guitarist, but now seems to be an official member. He is in The Florist and was in GAUCHE, BRIT BANQUET, PICK 2 HAND and support for school food punishment. Hideo Nekota was born on January 1st in Hiroshima. He is the band leader and head of the band. He writes (almost all of) the music and lyrics. Before FOX LOCO PHANTOM, he was in AURORA and KOHL. His projects include SAD VACATION (solo; mostly instrumental/BGM), QUADRANGLE (on vocals) and GOLIATH. He was also a member of THE TEENAGE KISSERS with 北出菜奈 (Nana Kitade). On May 31st 2020 he announced that he has been suffering from hearing loss on one ear and also the other ear. He's now the label owner of GARDEN CITY RECORDS which FOX LOCO PHANTOM are signed to and producer of bands like 13.3g, wi wick and 秘めごと (Himegoto). Sou Sasaki was born on January 30th. He has been a member of BYEE the round before joining. He has been a member of the band since their reunion.
