About F.J. King with D.D. and The Drifters
F.J. King was the 1960s pseudonym of Dutch singer, Fred Pot. Born in Utrecht, King was living in the Dutch town of Gorinchem (in 1965) when he recorded his début 45, It Only Took A Minute (B-side: What Kind Of God Do You Think You Are?), with local band D.D. and The Drifters (a.k.a. Don Devil and The Drifters) as his backing band. The single never charted. F.J. King recorded one more 45, entitled Pucker Up Buttercup (B-side: Hold What You've Got), under the moniker of F.J. King & Smash.
