About Exmaark

Exmaark is one man with a laptop and a synthesiser. He has written tunes using a variety of software, and produced a number of albums since he began writing in 2001. His first album, "Teabags", was produced on the playstation using Music2000. "Falling Something Rising" followed, written on the notation-based French software Harmony before he upgraded his systems and began using the infamous virtual rackmount software Reason, made by Swedish company Propellerhead. The albums "Orchestral Manouvres In The Mark" and "Emotronica" were the culmination of a year spent doing little other than writing tunes, and it was the title track of the latter which saw him performing on a semi-regular basis in and around his home town of Maidenehead, Berkshire. A handful of Exmaark songs have been released on compilations produced by Lineout Records and Where It's At Is Where You Are (WIAIWYA). More recently he has collaborated with WIAIWYA artist Thewintersleep under the guise nowwearesix. At Christmas 2006 they released the self-produced double-album "So This Is Christmas?", a collection of reworkings of traditional Christmas songs and carols, some of which they performed at the 2006 WIAIWYA Christmas Party held at the 12bar club in London.
