About Every Word Is Yours
Every Word Is Yours are a Post-Hardcore/Ambient Screamo band from Manchester. The band was born in 2006 after lead guitarist and founding member Mike Byron-Hehir's previous band broke up due to haircut differences. Mike felt that the indie ridden Manchester music scene needed a breath of fresh air, and formed what would eventually become Every Word Is Yours later in 2006. After many lineup changes, the band has finally settled on a lineup which reflects the ambition held within each member. Craig Berry was hired on bass in 2007 and Andy 'Frodo' Stuart eventually completed the lineup as the band pressed forward as a three-piece. They enjoyed relative success within the Manchester area, often drawing in large crowds as well as supporting such bands as Open The Skies and Deaf Havana. In the summer of 2008, Andy quit the band to persue alternative avenues, and the band effectively went on hiatus until September 2008 when Martin Day, formerly of now defunct metalcore quartet We Lie In Chalk Outlines, arrived on vocals, and former guitarist Sam O'Leary converted to drums to once again complete the lineup as a 4-piece. In early 2009 David 'Otto' Ramsden joined on guitar, and late 2009 saw the arrival of James Ashcroft on drums. As a 5-piece, Every Word Is Yours have enjoyed the largest success of their young career, supporting such bands as Deaf Havana, All Forgotten, Young Guns, The Casino Brawl and Yashin, as well as their own headlining shows to large crowds and in the process expanding their fan base. Every Word Is Yours are currently preparing for more success in 2010, with slots at the Manchester based Surface10 unsigned festival and more shows coming up outside of Manchester, and 2010 promises to be an exciting year for the band. Along with melodic guitar riffs clashing with angry vocals, explosive drums combining with catchy basslines, EWIY are becoming renowned for their energetic stage performances and it won't be long before the ambition held within the band reaches boiling point.
