Euro Cinema and Hammondbeat records (USA) are excited to confirm that the full-length debut album "Ten-4!" is coming! Official CD RELEASE party march 18th 2011, Paradiso Amsterdam. Euro Cinema consists of Tim den Heijer (guitar), Niels Piay (drums), Rob Schepens (Hammond organ) and Dennis Orsel (bass). The band’s first demo, intended purely to solicit bookings, was recorded by a friend in a few hours. However, the track Euro Boogaloo was picked up on Myspace by influential DJ’s including Maestro (Blue Note records) and Craig Charles (BBC6 Soul and Funk show), who called their sound “a very nice line in soul jazz." The group started gigging on a regular basis in Dutch jazz/funk clubs and quickly acquired a reputation for their energetic live shows. For their first proper recordings, Euro Cinema contacted producer Phil Martin, the man behind the Soul Snatchers, Jazzinvaders and Laura Vane and the Vipertones. Shortly after, the band signed with the renowned American label Hammondbeat Records. The single Brooklyn Groove/Brother Lou is released in September 2009. The digital release also includes a rerecorded version of Euro Boogaloo. The single is getting airplay on Radio6 (Netherlands), BBC6 and in the U.S. on KMHD Jazz Radio.
