About El Shit
El Shit was a nu-metal band that started in the summer of 1999 in Harpel, Groningen, The Netherlands. Their style was described as 'freaky metal', 'metalcore' and 'stress metal'. The band was formed by gitarist/leadsinger David Peek, bassplayer/backing vocalist Bas van Velzen and drummer Ron Velthuis. In 2001 gitarist Bernard Schomaker joined the band. He played in El Shit for a year. After this El Shit continued with three members. El Shit has been influenced by Meshugguah, Deftones, Soulfly, Korn and Fear Factory. After 6 years of playing and winning several Dutch music-prices they broke up in 2005.
