About Edward Skeletrix
Edward King Bass IV, professionally primarily known as Edward Skeletrix, is an experimental rapper, producer, fashion designer, and visual artist from Atlanta particularly known for his work with AI in his visuals, his art exhibitions, and his avant-garde music. He has released and does release music under other names, such as Cight, Syckli, and Im A Monster. He also currently holds the prestigious title of "Chief Emperor of Skeletrix Island". Skeletrix first gained notoriety in the "Holy Trap" scene with his EP “ARCHITECTURE”, released under the name Cight, featuring many prolific artists within the scene at the time. During his tenure active under this name, he was a member of a few groups of producers, such as MIZUSTATION and 0% boys. He also worked separately with other noteworthy producers such as Misogi, Lil Netzero, and Fifty Grand. After a long hiatus, he returned in 2017 on a new account called shieldLess to continue his production. As of 2019, he has been inactive as a producer and now focuses on his clothing brand and his new project Edward Skeletrix. Starting the Edward Skeletrix project around mid-to-late 2019, the project did not center around music until July 2023 with the release of the song "Psychosis.coM". The brand of Edward Skeletrix initially centered around the use of purposefully strange and disturbing AI imagery and surreal videos with rage inspired music in the background, later becoming snippets of Edwards own music. These videos were posted to a TikTok account, but the account was deleted or banned sometime in November, 2023, shortly after he revealed the first snippet off his debut album "Skeletrix Language", being the track "Typical Rap Song 8", on November 19th, 2023. Skeletrix Language would release less than a month later on December 1st, 2023. Skeletrix would spend 2024 releasing many loose singles, particularly popular ones being "zo6 GET OUt!", "Batman", "Junya Junya" and "Blurry Picture (Psychosis)". He would also work closely with friend and fellow rapper Brennan Jones and promote a new album, SKELETRIX ISLVND RVDIX 66.7, though it would never release. Starting late 2024, Skeletrix became significantly more reserved and mysterious, culminating in his December exhibit where he would spend hours locked in a plexiglass box while fans poked and hit him. On January 1st, 2025, his sophomore double album "Museum Music" released in 2 parts under both the Edward Skeletrix name and the alias Im A Monster. To play as a full album, as shown on his SoundCloud and Spotify playlists, one must place the Im A Monster side first, followed by the Skeletrix side. For the full experience, one should listen to the YouTube exclusive Im A Monster track titled "Congratulations" as the closer to the first side, with the Brennan Jones collaboration "Label Meeting" moved to the penultimate track, followed by deleting the almost fully silent "Congratulations (Complete) Only Available on YouTube". This closing track titled "Congratulations" is an entirely different song compared to the Skeletrix track of the same name that opens the second side, being a 4 minute long instrumental electronic track. For the rest of 2025, despite announcing his third album "Body of Work" for release on July 1st, Skeletrix released nothing but loose singles (now believed to be scrapped songs for an old version of "Body of Work") for a majority of the year. This would change with the release of "Guest List" as the first fully confirmed album single on December 4th, 2025, the song's release being given alongside a March 2026 release window for the full album. On March 11th, the second single "Never Feel Again" was released and the album was delayed again, with a finalized release date of May 2, 2025 given to coincide with his "Commerce of Desire" art exhibition. The third single, "Slavery", would release nearly 2 weeks later, along with a music video for the track "Let's Have Some Fun" featuring daughter of Kanye West, North West, releasing just a few days before the album's slated release date. On May 1st, 2026, technically a day before the announced release date, "Body of Work" released. On this record and the associated music videos, Skeletrix continued to experiment with the surreal, uncanny, and disturbing elements of AI, while also reflecting on his place as an artist and the struggle of being an artist in the modern age. The album was announced with features from North West (as previously mentioned) and XXXTentacion, but both were removed from all but the YouTube upload of the album. The former was replaced by nothing but the sound of a tool being slammed for the runtime of the original track, and the latter was simply turned into a fully instrumental track without X over it, the instrumental (even with X over it) being a beat from when he still was called Cight that X once stole.
