About Eat This
Eat This are fronted by London born singer/songwriter, guitarist Cliff Wright. His first real memory of Rock music was when he heard, was shocked and caught up by the hysteria surrounding the Beatles; he has remained a die hard fan ever since. He comes from a family of musicians on his maternal side and was going to rehearsals and gigs with his grandfather's big band, SPT, from a very early age. His grandfather drove a fire engine during WWII and formed SPT with a group of other firemen who were also musicians. His grandfather played piano, accordion and concertina, as did his father, Benjamin Scott. Ernest was self-taught but gifted and wrote and transposed all the scores for the other musicians in his band. From an early age Cliff got into The Beatles and The Who, religiously watching Ready Steady Go, Juke Box Jury, Top of The Pops and any television show which featured modern Pop/Rock music from near and far. After The Beatles split he was heavily into The Who and is also influenced by the music of Burt Bacharach, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, James Brown, Otis Redding, The Beach Boys, Them, Joe Walsh, Alice Cooper, Slade, Chuck Berry, Motown, the Ink Spots, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones, Peter Green, Keith Richards, Ron Wood, John Mayall, Bob Dylan, The Band, Eric Clapton, Al Green, Led Zepplin, Ike and Tina Turner, Bob Marley, Annie Lennox, The Ruts, The Sex Pisols, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, AC/DC and Foo Fighters.
