About Dussel Has Friends

Dussel Has Friends Vocals: James Donald Guitar: Rich Nardo Bass: Ricky Cody Synth/Percussion: Sid Nicolas Drums: Vinny Previti Dussel Has Friends is a clusterf*ck, albeit the most cohesive clusterf*ck you’ve ever heard, a clusterf*ck nonetheless. With backgrounds rooted in various musical nooks of New York City, from the beat-driven Hip Hop of the Boogie-down Bronx to the punk inspired Indie rock of Long Island, Dussel Has Friends combines the band member’s various styles to form something inherently unique. Dussel’s story begins in the summer of 2009 when lifelong friends Ricky Cody, Sid Nicolas, Vinny Previti and Rich Nardo began having free-flowing jam sessions in Rich’s basement (affectionately referred to as the Nardcave). Within a few weeks, these sessions started generating structured songs that were begging for a voice. However, despite the rock qualities of their music, the voice they sought to complete their sound was not a traditional singer, but an emcee, and they had a particular front man in mind. Having been big fans of everything their friend James of the Hip Hop group Silent Order worked on, Ricky, Rich, Vinny and Sid asked him to join the group. James was immediately sold on the aggressive raw sound that the band was creating, and within a few weeks, the now completed line-up began recording a series of genre-bending, groove-oriented demos, that are now being crafted into their debut E.P. Blending James’ ‘hold no punches’ lyrics and old school NYC style of delivery with the bands driving rock sound, Dussel Has Friends combines the aggressive in-your-face hip hop of the Wu-Tang Clan with a rock sound reminiscent of Blink-182, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Long Island rock sound that Rick, Rich & Vinny grew up listening to. Their individual differences allow Dussel Has Friend’s music to fuse their various personalities while maintaining the emotion and honesty that characterizes the band’s sound. Dussel Has Friend’s will be releasing their debut EP this summer. In the meantime you can find their first single “American Made” available digitally, as well as at shows. Keep up with the band at www.myspace.com/dusselhasfriends as well as most other social networking sites.
