English version below! Im Jahre 2009 erblickte Durothar in der Hansestadt Hamburg das Licht der Musikwelt. Die ersten Jahre lag das Augenmerk auf melodischem Paganmetal, über die Zeit und durch diverse Wechsel an den Instrumenten veränderte sich der Stil jedoch zusehends. Heutzutage spielen die fünf Mannen einen wuchtigen Mix aus Black- und melodischem Deathmetal, mit deutschen Texten über Reisen in nordische Länder, große Schlachten, die Gefahren auf See und die Freuden glückliche Heimkehr. Dabei versuchen sie aber garnicht erst in die typischen optischen und Verhaltensklischees der Pagan/Viking Metal Szene zu verfallen, sondern ziehen, gerne auch mal mit einem dicken Schlag Eigenironie, einfach ihren eigenen Stil durch. In den letzten Jahren absolvierten Sie diverse Auftritte, zum Beispiel in Hamburg und Umgebung, Lübeck, Richtung Bremen, sowie bis hoch nach Dänemark, mit Bands wie Skiltron, Kryptos, Killen, Dreadlord, Satanic Assault Division und Resistance. Das erste Album "Auf See" wurde Anfang Dezember 2016 veröffentlicht und für 2017 soll es deutschlandweit und im anliegenden Ausland auf die Club- und Festivalbühnen gehen. English: In the year 2009 Durothar came to life in Hamburg - Germany. The first years they played melodic Pagan Metal, but as the time ran by and a few changes in the line up happened, the music changed bit by bit. Nowadays the five musicians are playing a heavy mix of Black and (melodic) Death Metal with german lyrics about journeys to foreign northern countries, big battles, the dangers out on sea and the joy of a safe return. Within that they don't try to look and act like the usual Pagan/Viking Metal band and are not scared to show some self-mockery. In the last few years they played concerts in and around Hamburg, Lübeck and Bremen, and also in Denmark, together with bands like Skiltron, Kryptos, Killen, Dreadlord, Satanic Assault Division and Resistance. the first album "Auf See" was released in december 2016 and in 2017 they'd like to play in clubs and at festivals all over Germany and the surrounding countries.
