About Dr.Marvin

Born in Curitiba, Paraná, Dr. Marvin started his aquaintance with the musical universe while still a child, by listening to a erudit repertoire, mainly Handel and Strauss. Also during childhood, around the age of five, he was overcome by the genius of the works of the likes of Chico Buarque, Vinicius de Morais, Caetano Veloso, Rita Lee among others, in such a way that it would latter change the course of his life. Having a degree in law, Dr. Marvin decided to abandon the legal career and focus on his one great passion: music. To transform a youngster dream into mature reality, he iniciated his trajectory of deep studying, taking several courses and lessons, including at the prestigious Brazilian Popular Music Conservatory, in Curitiba. This first step in persuit of personal satisfaction resulted in a broadening of his musical universe, but his main influences, 80ths brazilian and international pop-rock, remains solid. In 1995, while preparing himself to continue with his diplomatic career, while in europe, he realized that his true path, indeed, was leading him trough musical notes, away from legal codes. His stay in London, Lausanne and Paris very much contributed to commiting his body and soul to music. Back in Brazil, around 2002, he moved to São Paulo, where he remained studying music. In this same year, Dr. Marvin started collecting the fruits of his work when one of his songs"Verdades" ("Truths"), was nationaly awarded at the Lucky Strike Lab, a multicultural event that elected the five best artists in the fields of music, photography and video. With success nocking at his door, the Lucky Strike Lab Music album was released containing tracks from the Curitiba and Rio de Janeiro performances, with a 10.000 printage. Since then, Dr. Marvin took on several projects in the musical scene, including a performance with the band "Pra Mateuz Dançar", conceived by Marcos Matias, of the "Nação Zumbi", a band that, along with Ben Harper, U2, Lulu Santos, Cássia Eller and many others, also heavily influenciated his work.
