About Dr. Scott and the Grass, Probably

Dr. Scott and the Grass, Probably is a five-piece country/folk group best known for their hit 'Don't Be Sad, Deodorant'. Scott Soben (vocals) started the group in 1997 with Ben Samson (bass, guitar) and Sam Benson (banjo, mandolin, guitar) during a high school Battle of the Bands contest. Though they lost, Ben became fast friends with drummer Ricky Pietimer, who performed with a Queen cover band. Keyboardist Jimmy-James "Mucky" Pietimer, Ricky's brother, was the last to join the band. The group's premiere album, "Cattle Attic," got a lot of airtime on local station KONG despite low reviews. However, word eventually spread to the rest of the country, which gave way to one of the most successful tours in country music. In 2003, the group released the two-disc "Barnhaus," which topped Southern charts for five weeks. The band has spent the last few years touring, and have no immediate plans to release another album. Scott was quoted as saying "We just like to.. wander? Is that the word? I mean, we.. like to, we just play music. If we get enough new songs, I guess we'll make another album. I don't see that happening in the next few.. yeah. I don't know, maybe."
