Doctor Ew is the maniacal and misunderstood alter ego of the songwriter Drew Curtis Ingram Smith. Based out of Toronto, ON. The Doctor performs live with a rotating cast of hard hitting players, including Jay Anderson, Matt McLaren, Paul Linklater, Mike Le Riche, Daniel Lee, Steven McKay and his The Bicycles bandmates; Matt Beckett, Andrew Scott, Dana Snell. Gadzooks (released in 2010) "shining a little light on the dark pop of Dr. Ew's debut record, which is really melancholy but has this ambitious, orchestral aura about it. In places, it reminds me of Brian Wilson, fighting his demons to make a Beach Boys masterpiece that no one else understands.
