About Djurre de Haan
Djurre de Haan (born Groningen, The Netherlands, 24 March 1981) is a Dutch musician, singer, songwriter and composer currently based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Best known under his singer-songwriter alias Awkward I, De Haan also composes (under his own name) for theatre, film and TV, including the original film music for 'De Ontmaagding van Eva van End' (2012), 'Aanmodderfakker' (2014), 'Monk' (2017) and children's TV series, 'Kamp Koekieloekie' (2021). The first two of these scores were nominated for a 'Gouden Kalf' (The Netherlands' most prestigious movie awards) for Best Music. De Haan also composes music for children's plays by The Netherlands' Maas theatre group, such as 'Lampje' (2020). 2021 saw the release of De Haan’s first pop studio album under his own name: a collection of ‘indie pop for beginners’, children and grown-ups alike, entitled Monsters en Freaks - Indiepop voor Beginners. An EP of songs for the TV series Kanaal Sociaal followed in November 2022.
