About Dizzy Q Viper
Active between 1996 and 1997, Dizzy Q Viper was a short-lived British noise rock band that emerged from the initial dissolution of Daisy Chainsaw. Formed by guitarist Crispin Gray and Vince Johnson, the project served as a critical experimental bridge before Gray reunited with vocalist KatieJane Garside to form QueenAdreena. The group's sound was defined by the aggressive, abrasive guitar work characteristic of Gray’s career, bolstered by experimental engineering from Teo Miller. During their brief tenure, the band performed a handful of UK shows at venues such as London's Raw Club (1996) and the Shepherd's Bush Empire (1997). Discography The band's studio output is primarily captured across two EPs and a rare promotional 12-inch: Losers Like You EP (1996): Featuring tracks "Losers Like You," "Jump High, High Horse," and "Love Proved False". Uncle Cracking Bone (1996): A UK white-label promotional 12" containing the title track, "Diamond Of The Desert," and "Forgive Them Oh Lord". Dizzy Q Viper (Self-titled): A 4-track release notable for the song "X-Ing Off the Days," which was later reimagined as a staple for QueenAdreena. While the band remains a cult footnote in the 1990s UK noise rock scene, their influence persists through the subsequent evolution of Gray’s work in the alternative underground.
