Distant Earth (aka Jeremy Eastwood) is a New Zealand born producer that has been based in the Tokyo-area in Japan since 2003. Not a DJ but rather a guitarist that turned to electronic music out of interest, Distant Earth is somewhat difficult to place in any one genre under the electronic umbrella. It incorporates elements of Electro, Ambient, Hip-hop, Trip-hop, Metal, Rock, Drum'n'bass and more. But one thing Distant Earth is, is dark. The up and coming album 2012 (to be released December 2008) has been described by Eastwood as "the soundtrack to the end of the world." As a relatively unknown artist, Eastwood has joined the internet revolution and almost exclusively releases his work online through the web-label, Digit.
