About Diagnóstico Binario
Diagnóstico Binario is an indie-rock band from the province of Alicante, Spain, known for its mix of indie melodies and alternative rock influences. The group was founded in 2016 by a collective of musicians from Elche and Aspe, including Dani Martínez (vocals), Antonio Botella (guitar), Javier Rodríguez (guitar), Álex Spar (bass), and David Martínez (drums). The band's name, which translates to "Binary Diagnosis," was inspired by the professional backgrounds of its members, who included a doctor, a nurse, and IT engineers, bridging the worlds of medicine and technology. The band gained initial recognition with their first LP, Gesto Perfecto (2019), which followed their debut demo, Cuestión de Criterios (2016). Gesto Perfecto helped them secure a place on the national music scene and led to performances at various festivals, including EMDIV Festival and ASPESUENA. A notable moment from this period was their performance as an opening act for the band Izal in the Alicante bullring. In 2021, Diagnóstico Binario released their EP, Asunto baladí, a project recorded at Neo Music Box studios in Aranda de Duero. This release helped them consolidate their sound and led to more opportunities, including a performance at the 25th anniversary of the Sonorama Ribera festival, where they shared the stage with prominent artists. The band's musical style is characterized by a blend of powerful guitar riffs, synthesized textures, and introspective lyrics that often explore human connection in the digital age. In 2023, they released the album Miscelánea, a project that continued their characteristic sound while demonstrating a commitment to meticulous detail in their production. In addition to their original work, the group also composed "Sentimiento e ilusión," the anthem for the centennial of the Elche C.F. soccer club.
