About Di Ma

Ma Di, born on January 15, 1989, in Beijing, is a Chinese mainland male folk music singer. In 2011, he founded the independent music label "Mayouye" on Douban, derived from the homophone of his name "Ma Youye." In 2013, he ventured into film and television, appearing in the released movie "Those Days of Restlessness"; subsequently, he officially signed with Modern Sky. In September 2014, he released his debut single "South of the South," which later became one of his representative works; in November, his first personal album "Lonely Island" was released, for which he won the Most Popular Folk Album award at the 4th Abilu Music Awards, and "South of the South" also won the Annual Folk Single award. In March 2015, Ma Di traveled south with his guitar, embarking on a 24-city tour for the "South Tour Chapter" of his "Lonely Island" tour; in July, he gained widespread public attention due to a cover of "South of the South" on " The Voice of China ." In September 2016, as the first Chinese folk musician to tour in the United States, he embarked on his first full U.S. tour. In March 2017, Ma Di collaborated with the Sparrow Band on "Wild Goose," winning the Annual Best Folk Singer and Band award at the "17th Music Billboard Annual Ceremony." In 2018, he was selected for the Forbes China 30 Under 30 List. In March 2020, he joined "I Am a Singer-Songwriter Season 2" as one of the initial guests alongside Zhang Yixing, Zheng Jun, and others. In 2021, Ma Di made appearances in multiple variety shows, including "The Most Beautiful Central Axis," " The Coming One 5 ," "Please Take Care of My Refrigerator: Party Season," " We Are the Champions ," and " Call Me by Fire Ⅱ ," among others. In 2023, Ma Di actively participated in major music festivals, such as the Wuhan, Xi'an, Nanchang, Fuzhou, and Funing Jinsha Lake Strawberry Music Festivals. On February 10, 2024, the recorded "2024 Silk Road Spring Festival Gala" was broadcast, featuring his performance of the song "South of the South." On April 12, 2025, the program " Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Season 5 " in which he participated was broadcast.
